Beyond the Ice

My name is Jackie and I am the Douglas County Schools rep with the Colorado Avalanche. We have a special career focused event coming up in March called Beyond the Ice, and I would love to have your students there! I know you are a Cyber School, but do you have a lot of students close to the Metro Area?

Beyond the Ice is all about educating students about the different jobs we have here at Pepsi Center and a look into all of the different departments it takes to successfully run a hockey game! We bring the students down for an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the Pepsi Center before the game, they get to meet representatives from different departments like Marketing, the Ice Crew, Ticket Sales, TV/Broadcasting, Human Resources, Community Relations, etc. and can ask them questions about their job and then enjoy our Avalanche Game afterward!

I attended a similar program to Beyond the Ice when I was a Senior in High School/Freshman in College, and about two months after I graduated I was able to start my career in Sports. I would love to help students learn more about this industry and open up their minds to new opportunities!
